Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-10-v7 · Updated 10 October 2026. Purchase terms apply to orders accepting this version after publication. Save or print this page for your records.

1. Who you are buying from

9CUES LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17462592, trading as PoseChapter.
Registered office and postal contact: 124 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX.
Email: support@posechapter.com. Our service and contract language is English.

These Terms govern the PoseChapter photo studio at studio.posechapter.com and its credit purchases. The Cancellation & Refund Policy forms part of your purchase contract. The Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal information; agreeing to these Terms is not blanket consent to unrelated data use or marketing.

2. Who can use the studio

You must be at least 18, able to enter a contract and using an email account you control. Keep sign-in codes private and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity you authorise; you are not automatically liable for every unauthorised transaction.

Upload reference photos of yourself only, and pet photos you are entitled to use. Obtain any photographer's permission required to upload and edit a photograph. Do not upload other identifiable people, children, medical records, identity documents or intimate images. Crop other people out before uploading. This is a creative portrait service, not a medical, biometric identification or identity-document service.

3. What you receive

PoseChapter uses AI to create new personal portraits from reference photos and your preferences. The studio offers Dating, Formal, Casual, Style and Hairstyle modes, background planning, varied settings, optional pet references where offered, and saving and downloading. Formal headshots can be cropped and downloaded in work-photo sizes, with print sheets included. Hairstyle images are creative previews; real salon results can differ. Sizing does not certify acceptance for passports, visas, driving licences or other official identity documents. A background or photo plan guides generation; it does not promise a photograph of an actual event or exact reproduction of a place, product, animal or outfit.

One generation credit buys one successfully delivered new image using the advertised 2K generation setting. This describes the output resolution setting, not a guarantee of exact likeness, perfect anatomy or photographic authenticity. Check the delivered file and report incorrect resolution or material defects. Swiping, passing, saving and downloading existing images do not cost additional credits. Passing or deleting a successfully delivered image does not itself return its credit.

You need an internet connection, an up-to-date browser supporting JavaScript and cookies, an email account and suitable reference images. The current app accepts JPG, PNG and WebP; supported limits are shown in the upload flow. Outputs are downloadable image files, normally JPEG. Internet, email and device costs are yours. Download important images separately; account storage is not an archival or backup service. This does not exclude our responsibility for loss caused by our breach of contract.

4. Packs, payment and orders

Packs are one-off purchases, not subscriptions. The pack name, number of credits and total price in your selected currency (GBP or USD) are shown before payment. GBP is the default; you can choose USD before checkout. Prices are fixed for each currency, not live currency conversions. The same pack supplies the same number of credits in either currency. Check these details and correct errors or leave checkout before paying. Any tax we are required to collect is included in, or identified as part of, the final total before you pay. Your bank may impose currency-conversion or overseas-payment charges, which it sets independently.

On the website, clicking a purchase button opens Stripe checkout. In the Android app distributed through Google Play, purchases use Google Play billing; the Play purchase sheet shows the applicable currency and total price before payment. The web currency selector does not set Play prices. An order is accepted when payment succeeds and we confirm the purchase. If payment succeeds but credit delivery fails, contact us; we will supply the paid-for credits or provide an appropriate refund. A checkout page or a pending payment is not confirmation that credits have been added. For web purchases, we provide a downloadable confirmation with the order details and the policy version accepted for that purchase. Google Play provides receipts and purchase history for Android purchases. Contact support with your Google Play order reference if you need help.

Credits have no scheduled expiry. They are for this account's photo generation, are not transferable or redeemable as cash except for refunds due under these policies or law, and do not earn interest. We can change future pack prices after updating the offer, but will not reduce the purchased allowance or retrospectively increase the credit cost of the advertised service for an existing pack.

5. Generation, delays and quality

Starting a batch reserves its credits. You can stop queued work that has not started; credits for cancelled, unstarted work are released. Work already submitted may finish and use a credit. Confirmed technical failures return the generation credit. If the provider outcome is uncertain, the credit remains reserved while we investigate to avoid a duplicate charge or duplicate generation. Contact support if it does not resolve. An uncertain job is not a permanent entitlement for us to keep your credit without supplying the image or a remedy.

AI can produce visual errors, altered likeness, incorrect limbs, hands or pet features. We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill and honour applicable digital-content rights. These limitations do not excuse outputs that fail to meet the description or other standards required by law. Report a materially defective image through the studio or email. Our refund policy explains repair, replacement, price reduction and refund routes. A subjective dislike of an otherwise conforming style is different from a defective image.

Do not rely on generated images as evidence of attendance, qualifications, professional results, relationships, ownership or endorsements. We do not guarantee dating matches, employment, sales, platform approval or other outcomes from using an image.

6. Your images and permitted use

You retain your existing rights in your uploads. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to copy, transmit, store and process them, and to allow our service providers to do so, only as needed to supply your requested service, protect the service and handle support or legal obligations. This is not a licence to sell your face, publish your photos in advertising or train our own general-purpose AI model. The licence ends when the relevant processing is no longer necessary, subject to the retention and legal exceptions in the Privacy Notice.

As between you and us, you may download and use your outputs for lawful personal and commercial purposes, subject to rights in your inputs, other people's rights and these Terms. To the extent we hold transferable rights in an output, we transfer those rights to you on payment for it. AI outputs may not attract copyright and may resemble other outputs; we do not promise exclusive ownership, registrable copyright or clearance of every depicted brand or object.

Respect the destination platform's rules and any applicable requirements to disclose AI editing. Do not remove provenance information to mislead people. No brand affiliation, authorised catalogue access or accurate virtual fitting is included unless expressly offered in a separate service.

7. Misuse restrictions

Do not use the service for fraud, unlawful impersonation, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual content involving minors, harassment, exploitation, unlawful discrimination, intellectual-property infringement or other illegal content. Do not create misleading clinical before-and-after images, false credentials, fake identity documents or false endorsements. Do not upload malware, evade safety controls, attempt to access other accounts, resell access to our provider credentials, or deliberately overwhelm the service. Ordinary use of accessibility tools is permitted.

8. Suspension, deletion and closure

We may restrict activity where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected misuse, unauthorised payment or a security threat. We will act proportionately, explain the reason unless prohibited by law or doing so would undermine security, and let you contact support for human review. A report or disputed payment is not by itself proof of wrongdoing. Restrictions do not automatically forfeit unrelated paid credits or statutory refund rights.

You can request account deletion in the studio or by email. Download photos and request any applicable credit refund first. Technical deletion may wait for active jobs or payments to be reconciled; if the app blocks deletion, email us for manual assistance. We will not use an unresolved job to postpone a valid data-rights request indefinitely. Deleting your account does not itself process a cash refund and does not remove an existing entitlement to one.

If we permanently discontinue the service or close your account without a breach by you, we will offer a refund of unused paid credits that we cannot provide. We will calculate it using the amount actually paid for the relevant pack divided by its credits, with no refund for free promotional credits. Where several packs remain and allocation is uncertain, we will use a reasonable calculation and explain it. We will aim to give at least 30 days' notice of planned closure and a chance to download photos; urgent legal or security situations may prevent this.

9. Responsibility and your rights

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing here removes your consumer rights or remedies for defective digital content, deficient services, unauthorised charges or damage to your device or other digital content where the law provides a remedy.

The consumer studio is not a bespoke business service. Unless separately agreed in writing, we are not responsible for business losses such as lost profit, revenue or business opportunity from commercial use of outputs, to the extent that exclusion is lawful. No fixed cap in these Terms limits a consumer's mandatory rights. Third-party outages do not remove our obligation to address undelivered purchases or other failures for which we are responsible.

10. Changes, complaints and law

The purchase terms saved with an order govern that order. We will give reasonable notice of material changes affecting ongoing use and will not apply changes retrospectively to remove purchased benefits. If an essential service change prevents us honouring unused credits, the closure/refund provisions apply.

Email support with your account email, order reference and the issue. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and provide a substantive response within 14 days; these are service targets, not extensions of legal deadlines. If a complaint remains unresolved, we will explain any applicable alternative dispute resolution information and whether we will participate. You can use any court or statutory complaint route available to you.

English law governs these Terms, subject to mandatory protections in your country of habitual residence. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but this does not prevent consumers bringing proceedings in their home courts where the law allows, including in Scotland or Northern Ireland. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue so far as lawful.
